Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in Lewes. This is an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional care to our residents in a supportive and welcoming environment. As a Care Assistant, you will work closely with the Deputy Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents. We are looking for an individual with a passion for care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Person-Centred Care: Assist residents with their daily needs, including personal care, mobility, and activities, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained.
* Medication Rounds: Administer medications as prescribed, following care plans and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
* Shift Supervision: Take charge of day shifts, overseeing the care team and ensuring that high standards of care are upheld at all times.
* Collaboration with the Deputy Manager: Work closely with the Deputy Manager to ensure that care plans are followed and residents’ needs are met.
* Maintain Records: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of care activities, including observations of health changes and medication administration.
* Support for Residents: Provide emotional and physical support to residents, creating a warm and safe environment.
* Promote Independence: Encourage residents to participate in daily activities that promote their independence, well-being, and mental stimulation.
Essential Criteria:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Care Assistant or in a similar role in a care home or residential setting.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (mandatory).
* Experience in medication rounds and knowledge of medication management is essential.
* Ability to work independently and take charge during day shifts.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and patient with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
