Position Overview: As a Secondary RE Teacher, you will have the opportunity to engage students in thought-provoking discussions about religion, morality, and spirituality. You will guide students in exploring the teachings and traditions of various faiths, fostering an atmosphere of respect, tolerance, and open-mindedness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging RE lessons that encourage critical thinking and reflection.
* Facilitate discussions on religious and ethical issues, encouraging students to express their viewpoints and engage in respectful dialogue.
* Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring their own beliefs and values.
* Incorporate multimedia resources, guest speakers, and experiential learning activities to enhance student understanding and engagement.
* Collaborate with colleagues to integrate RE concepts into interdisciplinary units and promote cross-cultural understanding.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Teaching certification/license in Secondary Education.
* Experience teaching Religious Education or related subjects at the secondary level, with a strong knowledge of curriculum standards and pedagogical approaches.
* Deep understanding and appreciation of various religious traditions and the ability to facilitate respectful discussions on religious diversity.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
