The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.
Job description:
We have an opportunity for a Head of Mechanical Design to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will be responsible for providing company leadership in mechanical design and processes and to provide support and guidance to the senior designers within the mechanical design group. Principal Accountabilities
* Management and responsibility for the Mechanical Design Team
* To ensure the car’s suspension and other mechanical; systems meet the requirements of the car specification.
* Prepare schemes of major car systems for analysis and detail design
* To provide technical support to the mechanical designers and ensure best design practice is achieved.
* Support the design group to meet the overall performance and delivery targets.
* To provide technical support for manufacturing.
* To support the development of future cars working with the other Heads of design departments
* To champion sustainable manufacture without sacrificing car performance.
Requirements
* Multiple years’ experience in motorsport industries preferred
* Experience of suspension design in Formula One®.
* Thorough knowledge of mechanical manufacturing, materials and analysis
* Strong leadership skills with solid experience of technical management and team development.
* Ability to plan and manage your group’s workloads.
* Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
* Ability to prioritize in a time pressured environment and manage personal deadlines
* Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently, while meeting challenging deadlines.
* Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.)
