We are looking for an energetic and flexible person to join the Stores and Facilities Team in Bromsgrove to fulfil the Stores and Facilities Labourer Role, based at the Bromsgrove Council Depot.
The primary purpose of this role is to clean the offices, mess areas, canteen, and toilets within the Depot building. This role also includes cleaning and housekeeping around the external yard and securing the building and site at the end of the working day.
The hours of this role are 37 hours a week, working between 10 am to 6.15 pm Monday to Friday with a 45-minute lunch.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clean the Depot building, including offices, toilets, kitchen, and canteen.
2. Carry out cleaning and housekeeping of the external yard area.
3. Secure the building and Depot at the end of the working day.
4. Assist the Supplies unit with unloading deliveries and the safe storage of items.
5. Carry out minor maintenance work around the site when required.
6. Liaise with contractors on site as required.
Skills & Experience
1. 1 to 2 years experience as a Yardperson, cleaner, warehouse, or in Stores.
2. Able to cope with the physical demands of the role.
3. Must be able to carry out manual duties in all weathers.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to solve problems with limited resources.
6. Reliable and a good timekeeper.
7. Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
8. Counterbalance forklift truck license.
9. Full UK driving license.
10. Knowledge of repair and maintenance.
