Our Lead Engineers are essential to the successful executions of our projects. They provide technical leadership to other engineers and customer-facing teams, overseeing each phase of project delivery to ensure we deliver valuable system solutions with excellent operational rigor.
Job Description
In this role you will:
* Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specializing in power systems, power conversion, automation, control, and mechanical integration, ensuring the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical leadership, advice, and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate, including Commissioning, Service, and 3rd parties.
* Support the Project Manager as required and deputize for them as and when the need arises. Plan and progress all design engineering-related activities, including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
* Monitor, control, and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management processes, design reviews, and quality & change control systems in accordance with company guidelines.
* Support improvement initiatives and 'cost out' plans in collaboration with teams from other business units.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Experience in an engineering leadership environment.
* Experience in application engineering in one or more fields, including power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid-connected systems, and automation.
* Experience in specifying components: drives, motors, transformers, switchboards, etc.
* Experience in design and system integration on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience in any field of power generation, conversion, transmission, and distribution.
* Knowledge of LV and MV variable speed drives and motors.
* Experience of owning the job, making it their own, and adding value beyond.
* Capability of leading large multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to multi-task on a variety of tasks to strict time scales.
* Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
* A customer-centric mindset, with experience in translating customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a similar degree with suitable industry experience.
