MSK Static and Rotational Physiotherapist

A number of exciting opportunities have become available to work within the Outpatient Musculoskeletal Service at UHCW. We have three different roles providing options to suit clinicians' preferences:
1. Static Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist based at the UHCW hospital site. This role gives candidates the opportunity to treat both Primary and Secondary Care patients whilst remaining in a static location at UHCW.
2. Rotational Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist. This role involves a caseload of both Primary and Secondary Care patients, allowing staff to rotate between 3 different locations: UHCW Hospital Site, the City of Coventry Health Centre, and Rugby St. Cross Hospital. Each rotation is 9 months long, giving staff the chance to experience a wide variety of patients and understand how each site functions within the pathway.
3. Fixed-Term Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist. This role involves a caseload of both Primary and Secondary Care patients, based on one of our 3 sites for 12 months. This allows candidates to gain experience of the UHCW Trust and develop their MSK skills in a supportive environment.

Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will become part of a dynamic service delivering high-quality MSK care that is timely and equitable across all three sites. The MSK outpatient service is made up of Physiotherapists, Technical Instructors, First Contact Practitioners, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Extended Scope Practitioners, and Consultant Physiotherapists. Our service is committed to research and innovation as we aspire to provide the best outcomes for patients.
As a member of the team, you will receive regular In-Service Training and peer supervision as well as the prospect for further training and development through shadowing and CPD opportunities.
* Manage a caseload of both primary and secondary care patients with varying diagnoses and/or complex needs, using evidence-based/client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical area.
* Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training, and annual appraisal.
* Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of clinical practice & service development within the area.
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Physiotherapy service.
* Take a lead for information management to ensure high-quality data is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.

Job responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner and member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programs.
* Carry out treatment using a broad variety of modalities and clinical reasoning to allow selection of the most appropriate technique, evaluating, modifying, and recording all interventions and outcomes.
* Use highly developed manual treatment skills requiring coordination, sensation & dexterity.
* Produce and deliver an annual report specific to own clinical area & participate in the delivery of the Physiotherapy business plan.
Professional
* Work in accordance with CSP & HPC rules of professional conduct and within local care pathways, policies, and standards.
* Establish and maintain effective communication networks with patients, carers, MDT, and other agencies across health, social care, and the private sector locally and regionally.
* Promote awareness of the role of Physiotherapy.
* Be responsible for own personal development to establish and maintain competence and fitness to practice as a Specialist Physiotherapist in own specialist area.
* Be responsible for the supervision and written assessment of physiotherapy students on practice placement within the Trust.
* Contribute to the Trust's Divisional and Teams clinical governance arrangements and quality agenda.
