TDU Technical Specialist - Technical Support Unit (TSU) (SEROCU)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Specialist to join the growing Technical Development Unit (TDU) within SEROCU.
Working closely with the Technical Surveillance Unit, intelligence teams, investigating officers, and others, the TDU is responsible for developing and deploying advanced technical capabilities in support of complex or serious and organised crime investigations across the South East region.
This role seeks to expand the teams’ skillsets and capabilities with expertise in areas such as Digital Forensics or RF Exploitation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialised tactical technical advice, deploying technical solutions, and analysing resultant technical data to support operational objectives.
Successful candidates will be those that want to use their existing skill sets in new ways and are keen to push the limits of current capabilities. Due to the varied workload, including long-term development projects and spontaneous operational deployments, it is considered essential for the successful candidate to have a high degree of personal flexibility and the ability to work under their own initiative to tight timescales.
You will be required to travel for business purposes across the South East and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
