A great opportunity has become available to manage Older Adults Day Care Centres in the Isle of Skye and Lochalsh! We have two fantastic Day Care centres in Portree and Dornie which provide social engagement for Service Users and day respite for Carers.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with older adults in a health and social care setting who has experience of managing staff. The post requires autonomous working to ensure that the centres are at the highest standard required for the care inspectorate and also meet the requirements of the NHS, such as health and safety and infection control. The post holder will line manage 14 staff and be able to effectively and fairly utilise all ‘Once for Scotland’ Workforce policies.
The Day Care services are positioned well to support older adults in a very remote and rural environment with the use of our mini-bus transport. It requires joint working with the other health and social care services in order to best meet the needs of our community holistically. We would need someone who is enthusiastic, dedicated, person-centred, and relational to work with the community and with other professionals.
The post also manages the buildings of both sites which requires audits and risk assessments of both services. Managing the position as a whole requires exceptional time management, an ability to prioritise various workloads and good use of online systems.
The position is permanent, working Monday to Friday. The post holder would be required to hold a professional health or social care qualification (i.e., Nurse, Social Worker, Allied Health Professional) or have an SVQ Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards this. It is required to travel between both Day Care services regularly and also drive the mini-bus when required, making a driving licence essential.
This position is a great step for people wishing to progress into management or to change from other health and social care management roles. It could be ideal for someone wishing to relocate to Skye and Lochalsh and a relocation package would be considered for the successful candidate subject to meeting the criteria.
