Podiatry Appointments/Clerical Officer

We are looking for a friendly and motivated Appointments/Clerical Officer to provide efficient and effective support in delivering a high-quality service to patients. You would be joining our friendly team within the Podiatry & Orthotic service, working from Port Talbot Resource Centre.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills, a positive and flexible approach, and the ability to adapt to the continuous changes of the service while enjoying working as part of a busy team.
The role will involve providing administrative support such as processing clinic changes, correctly recording patient pathways, and retrieving, preparing, and filing patient notes as required. You will also deal with telephone calls from members of the public in a confidential and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the day-to-day administration support of the Service.
2. Provide a confidential administrative and reception service to the Service.
3. Update electronic and paper-based systems, collate information, and manage mail distribution.
4. Participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Health Board Education Programme and other developmental activities.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* Good standard of education – GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
* RSA/OCR II qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills
* Experience of working in an office environment
* NVQ Business Administration Level 2
Experience
* Experience of using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Experience of data entry
* Experience of dealing with the public, answering enquiries, and follow-up action
Aptitude and Abilities
* Working within a Reception area
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good telephone manner
* Ability to deal with patients/visitors face to face and via telephone
