Depot Manager - Crewe, Motherwell, Sellafield and Carlisle
What is the key purpose of this role?
To lead and manage all engineering staff and ensure Depots and Field Support (Crewe and Field Support, Motherwell, Sellafield, and Kingmoor) are run safely and efficiently, and locomotives and rolling stock are maintained to the recognised standards.
Key accountabilities
* Be responsible for compliance with Health Safety, Security and Environmental legislation and requirements at location.
* Lead and manage location and associated staff to ensure maintenance work is carried out efficiently, effectively, and safely.
* Ensure staff competence is maintained for all relevant traction and rolling stock (T&RS) maintained by DRS at designated locations.
* Be responsible for the maintenance of T&RS fleet in the Depot/ Area of responsibility to enable NTS Rail to deliver its nuclear and non-nuclear business, ensuring that all maintenance activities and T&RS
o Are safe, secure and reliable
o Meet customer expectations
o Meet commercial targets
o Comply with national, railway and nuclear mandated regulations and standards
* Provide cost effective T&RS maintenance, overhaul and repair services to third party customers at required locations.
* Provide NTS Rail and third-party customers with cost effective in-field T&RS maintenance and repair services.
* Promote best practice maintenance methods throughout the company by adopting continuous improvement techniques.
* Communicate effectively with Fleet Delivery regarding the weekly and daily maintenance plan.
* Communicate effectively with National Fleet Delivery Manager regarding availability and reliability of the locomotive fleet.
