Job Description:
Our client, a well-established renewable energy supplier, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team and drive new business. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of securing new business opportunities, develop a strong sales pipeline, and sell flexible gas and electricity procurement contracts along with additional energy products and solutions. Key responsibilities:
1. Acquire accounts with energy consumption above approximately 25GWh to 100GWh
2. Build long-term relationships with customers
3. Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance
4. Develop growth strategies focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction
5. Research new business opportunities, markets, growth areas, and trends
6. Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
7. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
8. Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
9. Help plan sales campaigns
10. Create a target market sales pipeline
11. Determine pricing and deal structures to optimize propositions and drive growth
Skills and experience required:
1. Experience in Business Development within B2B energy supply or consultancy
2. Experience selling flexible contracts and energy solutions
3. Strong interpersonal skills: confident, credible, persuasive, and a team player
4. Good knowledge of the UK energy markets
5. Experience negotiating and selling fixed and flexible energy contracts
6. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to add significant value
7. Excellent written and verbal English communication and analytical skills
8. Ability to take ownership and propose improvements
9. Ability to influence internal stakeholders towards strategic goals
10. Ability to clearly present complex structures and solutions
