Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated support worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a community, residential, or hospital setting. The primary responsibility of the health support worker is to empower clients to achieve their goals, improve their quality of life, and develop coping skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients.
2. Provide emotional support, encouragement, and active listening to clients.
3. Collaborate with mental health professionals, including therapists and psychiatrists, to ensure coordinated care.
4. Monitor clients' progress and behaviour, and document observations accurately.
5. Facilitate group activities and support groups to promote socialisation and skill-building.
6. Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene, as needed.
7. Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources within the community.
8. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
Qualifications:
* NAPPI (desirable not essential)
* Previous experience working with individuals with mental health disorders preferred.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Empathy, patience, and non-judgmental attitude.
* Knowledge of mental health principles, interventions, and resources.
* Mandatory Trainings.
* DBS on update service.
