Job Title: HR Advisor
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £30,000 - £46,000
My client is looking for an experienced HR Advisor for their Newcastle branch, to offer support and advice to partners and managers on various HR matters. Additionally, they will provide guidance to employees on topics such as benefits, recruitment, selection, and employee relations. The role requires a minimum of three years of prior experience in a generalist HR related role.
This role involves supporting staff across multiple office locations, which will require occasional travel to offices across England and Scotland, including a minimum of one day every 3 weeks in Edinburgh.
JOB PURPOSE
1. Support in overseeing the delivery of HR services, policies, and strategies.
2. Provide assistance and advice to employees on various HR matters.
3. Foster and maintain effective communication and relationships with managers, colleagues, employees, and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
4. Recruitment & on-boarding
5. Write and present information briefings on a range of HR related topics
6. Consulting on issues related to workplace relations, training and performance management
7. Give advice and assistance on policies, procedures and legislation
8. Managing Payrolls
9. Manage / oversee grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings
10. Exit interviews
11. Producing reports, statistics and completing HR projects
12. Attend Employment Law meetings / seminars & keep up to date with HR best practice and employment legislation
13. Deal with regulatory requirements in respect of the Law Society of Scotland, Solicitors Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority
14. Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices (including streamlining processes)
15. Branch / office visits
Desirable Qualifications
16. Degree in human resources or a relevant area or CIPD qualification at minimum level 5 (or working towards)
17. Drivers Licence
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
18. Strong knowledge of employment law and legislation
19. Generalist HR experience within an HR environment
20. Experience in providing advice and support to senior managers on strategic matters
21. Experience in leading projects and implementing new initiatives
22. Familiar with all Microsoft Office packages
