The successful candidate will have worked in a busy restaurant environment and be able to lead, motivate and support your team members to achieve success. You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out seven including weekends. As an Assistant Manager you will have a fully flexible approach as working patterns will include days, evenings, nights and weekends as required. Hours vary, but typical shift patterns include 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm. The salary for this full-time position is £26,000.00 per annum depending on experience. About The Role To assist with the management of the Restaurant for the greatest enjoyment of the guests and maximum profit contribution to the hotel. 1.To take responsibility for the effective leadership of the restaurant employees in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, to ensure the efficient operation of the Restaurant and the delivery of Hastings product and service standards. 2.To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity. 3.To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement. 4To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems. 5.To ensure all restaurant employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards. 6.To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests. 7.To ensure you and the team respond assist guests with any reasonable request for hotels services. 8.To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution. 9.To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction. 10. To ensure the restaurant area, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards. 11.To ensure the security of restaurant and storage areas is maintained at all times. 12.To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures. 13.To seek and continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity, to provide input into future plans and activities, and so maintain and enhance market position. 14.To assist with the recruitment, selection and utilisation of restaurant employees to achieve the optimum use of employee resource in line with business peaks and troughs. 15.To contribute to the development of the hotel business plan, projects and initiatives to continually develop the hotel business and market position. 16.To ensure the hotel's compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation. 17.Any other duties as required by management About You We would love you to have some similar previous experience Required Criteria Right to Work in the United Kingdom Good Command of English Language Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths Work well under pressure and be a team player Must have excellent attention to detail Smart well groomed appearance is essential Good communication and basic numeracy skills Must have previous food and beverage supervisory experience Desired Criteria Previous food and beverage management experience Skills Needed Hospitality, Bar Skills, Bar Service About The Company Hastings Hotels owns and operates six hotels in Northern Ireland, with over 1,000 bedrooms, one stand-alone grill bar/restaurant and a luxury spa.
