We have an opportunity for a Telecoms Manager on a very long term contract basis (several years duration).
28/28 rotation in Algeria. The client is a western operator on a brownfield producing gas asset.
Responsibilities:
* The Chef Dept Telecoms provides team and technical leadership to ensure the timely and effective delivery and operation of Telecoms services in alignment with business priorities and Information Technology and Telecoms (ITT) standards and strategies. Scope includes all Telecoms services, including field radio systems, trunk radio, network (WAN/LAN), PBX telephone, access control systems (ACS), video conferencing, closed-circuit television (CCTV), internet service providers (ISP), public address and the general alarm (PAGA), satellite telephone, satellite data (VSAT), satellite TV digital distribution, vehicle tracking, the telecommunications data centers operations, and business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
* The Chef Dept Telecoms works closely with IT Management to identify and execute opportunities to improve organizational and individual efficiency, delivering new and existing Telecom services to improve GB performance.
* The Chef Dept Telecoms directly supervises and manages multi-disciplinary teams (3) of Telecom professionals, made up of 13 positions in total spread over the 3 GB locations.
Required Experience:
* Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a very closely related discipline.
* 3 years of experience supervising or managing a diverse team of IT or Telecom staff.
* 5 years of experience in the management of LAN or WAN networks.
* Experience in the implementation, support, and maintenance of satellite links, radio networks, and LAN / WAN required.
* Must have demonstrated competence and experience in the key areas of:
o Project management and achievement of time, cost and quality targets.
o Team supervision and leadership.
