One of the largest independent Building Services consultants in the UK. This company is forward-thinking, extremely well-established, and specializes in all aspects of building services and sustainability consultancy. To properly understand, design, manage, and deliver the commission, this company has a big focus on collaborative working. They have a strong history of sustainable projects, led by a long-standing director who considers energy efficiency to be vital. This organization provides a first-class service across multiple sectors; however, they are particularly strong in Healthcare, Commercial, and Residential.
Role
* Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems.
* Preparation and review of documentation, e.g., designs, specifications, assessment reports, survey reports.
* Manage the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house developed tools.
* Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
* Implement detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of the existing installations and gather sufficient information to recommend new or upgrade design proposals.
* Assist with the development of junior engineers.
* Write reports and technical notes.
Qualifications/Experience
* Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
* Ideally chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET.
* 5-10 years experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
* Good report writing skills, with experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
* Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and act on own initiative.
* Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as IES thermal modelling package, Microsoft packages, CAD, Hevacomp.
