SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant Location: Romsey Start Date: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Romsey. This role is essential in providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), enabling them to thrive academically and socially. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in close partnership with teachers, parents, and other staff, adapting to a dynamic classroom environment to ensure individual learning requirements are met. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Assist pupils with SEN in a 1:1 or small-group setting to support their learning and development Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment Monitor and record students’ progress, adapting support strategies as needed Facilitate activities that promote students’ social, emotional, and behavioural growth Prepare and modify resources to meet the unique needs of each student Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting Relevant teaching assistant qualification or experience is highly valued Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one As an ethical, inclusive, and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools across the UK.
