Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dual Registered Children's Home Manager to oversee the management and operation of two EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties) homes located next door to each other in Walsall. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strong leadership and direction to the staff teams in both homes, ensuring high standards of care and support for the children and young people.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including Ofsted requirements.
3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a safe and nurturing environment.
4. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
5. Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
6. Foster positive relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and the local community.
7. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
8. Ensure the effective use of resources, including staffing, facilities, and equipment.
9. Lead by example, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and high standards of care.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience managing a children's home, preferably with experience in EBD settings.
2. Relevant qualifications in social care, management, or a related field (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare).
3. In-depth knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
4. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations effectively.
6. Demonstrated commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children and young people.
