Job Title: Design Office Team Leader
Location: Central Hull
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Contract Details: Full-time, Permanent
Responsibilities:
Our client, a leading engineering organisation, is seeking a Design Office Team Leader to join their team in Hull. As the Design Office Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and guidance across all departments. You will be responsible for motivating and developing the team, ensuring the highest standards of work output and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
1. Act as the main point of contact for technical information, facilitating clear communication channels between departments.
2. Motivate and support the team in developing best practices, both individually and departmentally.
3. Prioritise and distribute workload in the absence of the Senior Management.
4. Provide technical guidance to the Sales Teams for quotation purposes, ensuring accurate and relevant information is included.
5. Liaise with clients regarding technical inquiries and project updates, conducting site meetings and surveys.
6. Ensure all work output meets the required quality and standards.
7. Support new product development to meet evolving industry requirements.
8. Produce approval drawings, provide support for equipment assembly, issue bill of materials, and document design calculations.
9. Liaise with subcontractors for manufacturing support.
10. Handle customer correspondence related to design and manufacture.
11. Prepare equipment manuals and technical files for CE marking.
12. Maintain an up-to-date project schedule.
13. Undertake any other duties relevant to the position.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Engineering experience with a strong understanding of technical drawings.
2. Proficiency in Solidworks, CAD, and PDM is desirable.
3. Demonstrated experience in motivating and supporting a team.
4. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
5. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
6. Strong communication skills to foster positive working relationships.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
8. A positive attitude towards mentoring and collaborative work.
