Job Title: Children's Assessment & Intervention Social Worker
Location: Oldham Council
Salary: £36,648 - £40,221 per annum + £2,000 retention payment
Contract: Permanent
Working Arrangements: Hybrid working
Description:
Oldham Council is looking for passionate and dedicated Social Workers to join our Assessment & Intervention (A&I) Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of safeguarding children and young people, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where early intervention and timely decision-making are key. Responsibilities:
1. Undertake statutory assessments for children and families, identifying risks and developing support plans.
2. Provide timely interventions to protect children from harm and improve their well-being.
3. Work in partnership with families, professionals, and partner agencies to deliver targeted support.
4. Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring high-quality social work practice in line with legislation.
5. Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
6. Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Experience in safeguarding, child protection, or assessment and intervention preferred.
Skills: Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children's social care.
Other Requirements: Ability to travel across Oldham.
