Job Summary: To provide general secretarial support to the Practice Manager, GPs and Health Professionals involving word processing and audio typing skills with general clerical work. This includes the typing of letters, reports and patient referrals in an accurate and quality manner. Job Responsibilities: Typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, and associated documentation in an accurate and quality manner. Liaise with external agencies such as hospitals and community services ensuring referrals are processed efficiently. Manage all enquiries in an effective manner. Maintain an accurate referral database. Assist the Practice Manager with all clerical and administrative duties. Process referrals using the electronic referral system (eRS). Liaise and arrange meetings (to include the booking of rooms) as required and attend meetings, taking minutes. Support GPs in retrieving medical records and assist in the completion of private medical reports. Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance, solicitor letters and DVLA forms. Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries. Support MDT in liaising with multiple agencies to coordinate care for patients. Carry out system searches as requested. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested. Provide cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave. Receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.
