We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacists to join our team, working alongside the Microbiology Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work currently undertaken with respect to antimicrobial stewardship within the Trust and ensure that antimicrobials are also used safely and effectively within our established Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service.

Main duties of the job
Key roles will include:
Regular attendance at antimicrobial ward rounds with the microbiology consultants
Providing specialist clinical input into the Trust OPAT service and contribute to weekly MDT meetings
Working towards the Trust's antimicrobial stewardship strategy
In conjunction with the rest of the OPAT team, ensuring that patients on OPAT receive appropriate monitoring and follow-up, auditing outcomes.
Undertake audits for antimicrobials and antifungals including CQUINs in conjunction with the microbiology consultants
Training multi-disciplinary team members in the appropriate use of antimicrobials.
This post would suit experienced Pharmacists with excellent clinical knowledge, good communication skills and experience in antimicrobials.
To support 7 day working you will be expected to participate in the on-call, weekend, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.

1. Post Graduate Clinical Diploma
2. Post Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
Desirable
3. Independent Prescriber qualification or will undertake
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
4. Comprehensive post-registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy - this must include a solid grounding in all aspects of acute hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, ward services and dispensing)
5. Excellent knowledge and practice of clinical pharmacy in the acute care setting
6. Significant previous antimicrobials experience
