About The Role Morrison Water Services are currently looking for a forward thinking and self-motivated SHEQ Advisor to work on our Welsh Water contract. As the project SHEQ Advisor, you will be an important part of our SHEQ team, working together with the Morrison Water Services operations teams to ensure the safe delivery of all utility replacement on the workstream. You will advise Morrison Water Services construction managers, team leaders and site operatives in the field of statutory health and safety requirements, encouraging the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement. Regularly inspect work locations and prepare and submit site inspections in a timely manner, reviewing and approving risk assessments and method statements. You will ensure temporary works are implemented safely, conducting investigations of incidents and accidents identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Reporting incidents in line with Morrison Water Services and our clients reporting systems & minimum requirements. Compile and submit monthly KPI reports within agreed timescales to the regional SHEQ manager. Delivering project inductions & undertake D&A testing (random & following incidents). Ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and assist Morrison Water Services operational teams in closing out actions in a timely manner. You’ll be assisting Morrison Water Services operation teams to deliver toolbox talks & safety briefings, supporting Wellbeing Campaigns and deliver toolbox talks and briefings on subject matter. Assisting in the identification of safety training needs for site-based personnel and bring these to the attention of the SHEQ Manager. Co-operating with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits. Suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention, and monitor compliance with both the Morrison Water Services management systems and our clients service management systems. The Key Requirements Do you have NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate? Are you computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook? Do you hold an appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card, EUSR SHEA Gas/Power and or/ EUSR Water Hygiene? Are you a Member of IOSH? Do you have a working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation, best practice, street works and locating underground utilities/services? Are you knowledgeable in Temporary Works, environmental regulations and NERs, GERs & WERs? This would be desirable. Can you maintain records, prepare reports and evaluate safety practices, procedures, attitudes, and awareness and to recommend methods of improvement? Are you experienced in delivering training modules and project inductions? Do you have knowledge of a variety of occupational health risk environments, such as confined spaces and utilities service avoidance? What’s in it for you?
