Job Title: Regional Market Analyst – Latin America
Reports To: Director of Global Data & Analysis – Charts and Certifications Head of Global Sales Reporting
Location: London, UK (3 days working from the office, 2 days from home)

IFPI represents the music recording industry worldwide. Headquartered in London, our role is to advocate for the interests of our member record companies across the globe. IFPI is the leading data provider to the global music industry, producing several global industry reports including:
- The quarterly IFPI MAP global market size and market share report, the authoritative market data for the recorded music industry, in particular the major record labels.
- The annual IFPI Global Music Report.
- IFPI’s annual Global Recording Artist, Global Single and Global Album charts.
The Data & Analysis team also facilitates the Global Finance and Global Charts Committees, working with the global major record labels and leading indies, as well as IFPI’s National Group network across 60 markets, chart compilers and music streaming platforms such as Apple, Spotify and Deezer to improve the music industry data landscape, ensuring labels have a consistent, accurate basis for global performance metrics.
In addition to improving the data landscape, IFPI is focused on delivering insightful analysis for our members, helping them to better plan their businesses and react to a fast-changing market as it transitions from physical to digital consumption.
IFPI’s other departments cover its other principal activities, including:
· Content protection and litigation
· Government representation
· Global communications and public relations
As well as the London HQ, IFPI has regional offices based in Brussels, Singapore, Beijing, Miami, UAE, Kenya and Vietnam. The Miami office is responsible for promoting the recorded music agenda across the Latin American region, working closely with the global team based in London.
JOB PROFILE
The IFPI Regional Market Analyst - Latin America will be part of the Global Data & Analysis team based in the IFPI’s Global Secretariat in London UK.
While the key responsibilities of the role are outlined below, overall the Regional Market Analyst role will be focused on improving the quality of market data available in the Latin American region, developing the national charts and certifications landscape and working with the major record labels, IFPI’s member national groups and other key industry players to ensure this data is delivering value for the industry.
Key responsibilities
Charts and Certifications (circa. 40% of role)
· In partnership with the Director of Global Data & Analysis, leading the development of the charts and certifications landscape in Latin America as part of the global charts and certifications strategy. This will include:
o Managing the weekly national chart insight summaries delivered to the companies for all markets adhering to global best practices.
o Ensuring all national charts programs adhere to IFPI Global best practice and leading regional efforts to encourage adoption.
o Rolling out updated certification methodologies across the region, in line with global best practices.
o Engaging with National Group and local label representatives to collect feedback and identify opportunities to deliver improvements.
Sales Reporting (circa. 40% of role)
· Supporting the Global Sales Reporting team by managing the quarterly sales reporting process across the Latin America region and continuously striving to improve the quality and accuracy of revenue reporting. This includes:
o Processing and analysing data collected from reporting companies and National Groups as part of IFPI’s market measurement process and ensuring all companies meet reporting deadlines, escalating issues to Head of Global Sales Reporting as appropriate.
o Implementing best practice improvements to market measurement across the region, working closely with the Global Sales Reporting team to understand the global approach whilst bringing expert knowledge of local considerations to ensure an appropriate solution.
o Building strong relationships with local and regional major labels and IFPI contacts and developing a thorough understanding of the market performance and dynamics across the region and individual countries.
Overall Data & Analysis team support (circa. 20% of role)
· Working closely with the Global Data & Analysis team to understand the requirements for reporting in the region, acting as a liaison between the global, regional and national representatives of the major record labels.
· Deepening IFPI’s relationships with our member companies in the region, particularly the major record labels, through assisting in delivery of analysis, collaborative projects and outstanding client service.
· Preparation of materials and research for IFPI’s Latin America Regional Finance, Charts, Executive Committees.
This role requires a self-starter with ability to adapt quickly to changes in the environment while working with regional finance and analysis teams as well as national groups to deliver timely reporting and data analysis providing a clear picture of industry trends in the Latin region.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Management, International Business, Economics or data related), with experience of delivering exceptional client service, working closely to deliver against both client and company objectives. The candidate should possess the following competencies:
· Excellent analytical and written communication skills, including very good command of written and spoken English and Spanish (Portuguese an advantage).
· Strong interpersonal and client management skills – listening, understanding client needs and producing quality briefs from client conversations, as well as demonstrable experience of building and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders.
· Advanced Excel skills preferred.
· A methodical approach with outstanding attention to detail
· Experience in producing and delivering high quality presentations via PowerPoint.
· Knowledge of the music industry is advantageous but not essential.

The music industry is a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment, and our stakeholders are extremely demanding. We are looking for candidates who thrive in this environment, able to deliver high quality work in a short period of time, highly client focused but also able to think critically and look beyond the obvious.
A significant part of this role will include working independently and with a remote team – candidates should have either experience of or an appreciation of the challenges of working with a remote team, and be able to build and maintain relationships remotely.
