If yes, please proceed on and get in touch today The Opportunity An exciitng opportunity has opened up for a Chemical Sfety and COSHH Advisor, to provide support and coaching to contract partner COSHH Coordinators, as well as assisting with the site’s transition to a COMAH-regulated site as the power station nears commissioning. Additionally, the role will involve advising on the site’s emergency response capabilities to ensure the appropriate response tools are available. Your duties and responsibilities will be As a Chemical Safety and COSHH Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and assuring the site’s chemical inventory supporting compliance with regulatory requirements including COMAH. Develop the arrangements associated with safe chemical storage and the operation of a COMAH site. Assess contractor requests to bring products to site and ensure that Subject Matter Experts are consulted as required. Coach and support contract partners to reach the high standards and chemical safety demanded. Identify hazards that require addition mitigation or response measures and advise the relevant stakeholders.You will have the following qualifications & experience A degree or equivalent in chemistry or a similar discipline. Formal training in chemical risk assessment (at least P304). Experience managing chemicals on busy sites. Experience of building effective professional relationships in a construction environment. Experience in waste classification and hazardous waste management. Awareness of environmental management and toxicology assessments. Experience of DSEAR assessments. Experience in process safety.The setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels.
