Torus Technologies is pushing the boundaries of the construction industry through innovative, efficient and cost-effective methods of building a residence from slab to frame utilising 3D Construction Printing (3DCP) machinery and technology. In collaboration with local designers and builders, Torus Technologies are appointed as sub contractor to complete the frame and internal walls of the residence. This build methodology reduces the environmental footprint with less wastage and a more sustainable, eco-friendly build.
The 3DCP Technical Operator is responsible for the mobilisation, operation and maintenance of the advanced mobile concrete 3D machines and pumping systems and its related and supporting (sub) systems (such as batching plant, hoses, sensors) and infrastructure. You will be a key player in the process of achieving high-quality and reliable printed concrete structures. The candidate must have the ability to travel to local, regional and interstate sites for the purpose of performing tasks.
Main Activities :
1. Operate and maintain onsite 3D construction printing robotic and gantry machines and systems
2. Operate and maintain onsite concrete batch/mixing plants, pumps, and hosing systems for the 3DCP
3. Lead in the mobilisation/demobilisation of the 3DCP and its supporting infrastructure
4. Work closely with the Lead Engineer, 3DCP Operator, general support staff, and supervisors to ensure projects adhere to strict deadlines, specifications, safety protocols and building codes.
5. Manage and maintain the flow of concrete/mortar through a specialised pump system.
6. Monitor mix quality, consistency, moisture compensation accuracy by completing required tests during operation.
7. Solve technical problems and have ability to respond quickly to operational challenges
8. Coordinate daily physical moisture tests on raw materials and water samples.
9. Load mixer/silo using large format tele handlers and other equipment
10. Manage and maintain all tools and equipment within the 3DCP process with the 3DCP Operator and support staff.
11. Proactively contribute to a safe working environment and participate in monthly and annual safety audits
12. Attend weekly meetings with Senior Management, Lead Engineer and operators
13. Line pump and/or concrete experience a must.
Key skills and attributes :
1. Be physically fit and healthy with the ability to pass a medical assessment
2. Ability to contribute to a high performing team with a focus on HSEQ
3. A license and ability to operate a Forklift
4. Attention to detail and accuracy
5. Experience in line pump and/or concrete production essential
6. Has at very least, basic knowledge of concrete technology
7. Is familiar with the maintenance and management of a concrete batching plant
8. Has the ability to ensure safe and efficient production
9. Ability to work both independently and in a team
10. Is a strong team player and has the ability to collaborate with diverse workforce
11. Has strong verbal and written communication skills
