Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Self-Employed Part-Time Bookkeeper to work with Obsequio Software Ltd on a temporary basis, with the potential for ongoing work. This hybrid position offers flexibility for remote work, with occasional visits to the office as required.
Our immediate need is to address a backlog of hundreds of unreconciled transactions across QuickBooks, Xero, and scanned receipts. This situation has arisen due to our previous bookkeeper being on maternity leave.
The initial responsibilities will include:
* Reconciling transactions on QuickBooks and Xero with bank statements and receipts.
* Ensuring all transactions are correctly categorised.
* Handling inter-company transactions, including loans and director's loans, within our corporate structure.
Given the scope of this initial task, there will likely be a significant amount of work upfront to get everything fully reconciled and up to date.
For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to establish an ongoing arrangement to provide part-time bookkeeping services, including maintaining accurate records and producing monthly management accounts.
This position offers the chance to work with interesting and diverse transactions, far beyond routine bookkeeping tasks such as quarterly VAT filings.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for someone with:
* Proficiency in bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, Xero) and tools such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
* Experience with inter-company transactions, director’s loans, and property-related bookkeeping.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* The ability to ask pertinent questions and proactively solve problems.
