We are looking to recruit Trainee Patent Attorneys to join our friendly teams in our Birmingham, Liverpool, and London offices.
If successful, you will join Forresters‘ thriving Technology & Engineering group and will train in handling all aspects of patent and design work. You will assist in protecting inventions across a wide variety of subject areas, which may include mechanical, electronics, software, and cleantech-related technologies.
On-the-job training will be given by partners and other fully qualified senior attorneys, as well as through external training courses, in order for you to become a fully qualified UK and European Patent Attorney.
About you:
* You must have a 2:1 degree or above in a science or engineering discipline. Degrees typically considered suitable for the role are physics, mechanical engineering, materials science or computer science, for example. Candidates with degrees in chemistry or life sciences, only, are unlikely to be suited to the available roles.
* You must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, have organisational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
* You must possess a commitment to quality and attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Interviews will take place in January 2025.
To apply, please send your CV and cover letter to careers@foresters-ip.com by Friday December 13 2024. Please confirm in the cover letter your chosen office location and whether you are able to prove you have the right to work in the UK.
Additional Information:

* 28 days of annual leave in addition to bank holidays
