Our Care & Support Division are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager (hybrid role and will be required to visit our offices in Westcliff on Sea, 3-4 times per month). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to help shape the future growth of the Care & Support division and contribute to delivering high-quality, CQC-compliant services. Experience in business development within health and social care is required.
As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth within the Company's Care & Support Division, which provides high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, and clinical care requirements.
The role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strategic plans, and fostering key partnerships, particularly with Local Authorities, Case Management Companies, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and Registered Social Landlords (RSLs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Growth: Develop and implement a 1, 3, and 5-year strategic business plan to meet revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships in the Care & Support sector.
2. Business Opportunity & Market Analysis: Continuously evaluate growth opportunities, staying informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving care standards. Use market insights to refine business development strategies and identify potential clients and service offerings.
3. Relationship Building & Sales: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders (Local Authorities, ICBs, RSLs, and private individuals). Lead the pitching of services, create tailored proposals, and engage in proactive sales strategies to meet targets.
4. Networking & Industry Engagement: Represent the company at external events, conferences, and forums to build industry connections and raise the company's profile.
5. Project Leadership & Collaboration: Manage multiple business development projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, mobilisation, senior management) to ensure services meet client requirements.
6. Tender Management & Partnership Development: Lead the preparation and submission of tenders and framework agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance and strategic alignment. Forge and maintain relationships with RSLs to secure suitable properties and ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
7. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly report on business development progress to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team. Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and strong partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in business development or partnerships, preferably in health and social care or a regulated environment.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care & Support sector, CQC regulations, and the healthcare stakeholder landscape (Local Authorities, ICBs, RSLs).
Sales & Relationship Management:
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships, pitch services effectively, and close deals.
Tender & Strategic Development: Experience in preparing tenders and securing framework agreements, with a strong understanding of compliance and business strategy.
Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent ability to present proposals, articulate value propositions, and communicate clearly with clients and internal teams.
Desirable Qualifications: Health & Social Care qualifications (e.g., BA Social Work, Registered Nurse) are desirable but not essential.
Basic salary up to £55k plus commission. 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
