What this job involves:
The Planning Team advise public and private sector clients on all aspects of planning and development. Their goal is to maximise site or scheme value for clients and ensure proposals receive planning permission first time.
Our graduate programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards professional chartership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Over the course of the programme, you will be supported through the RTPI Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and will gain exposure to a variety of exciting projects, helping develop your knowledge and skills. You will become a confident and competent planner and be ready to step into a qualified role in the business as part of our Planning and Development Team.
What your day-to-day will look like:
* Preparation of feasibility studies and site appraisals to assess development potential.
* Assist with the preparation and progression of planning applications.
* Organise and attend pre-application meetings with Local Planning Authorities.
* Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, multi-disciplinary external consultants and clients.
* Devise effective stakeholder engagement strategies and attend public consultations.
* Assist with making representations on emerging planning policy.
* Provide planning appeal assistance.
* Gain excellent understanding of the town planning process.
* Take part in regular training in business skills, technical knowledge and professional development to support your growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
* GCSEs – C / 4 grade or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Degree – A combined RTPI accredited qualification, or ‘spatial’ and ‘specialist’ RTPI accredited qualifications, please note this does include a Masters in Planning degree.
* You’ll have an interest in planning and the property industry and how we can shape its future.
