Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner in communication to join a passionate team that supports the achievements of students with additional learning needs and or disabilities including young people and adults.
As a Communication Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals who are Ddeaf or hard of hearing to effectively communicate. You will support students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them to access and understand the curriculum and progress in their learning, while encouraging the development of independent skills and confidence. You too will be confident providing tailored one-to-one, group or whole class support, as well as personal care when required.
As the successful candidate, you will be an enthusiastic and adaptable person, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. You will have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent and be able to work flexibly, including evening work, and supporting at our off-site provision.
