We act in the public interest to reduce work-related illness, death and serious injury across Great Britains workplaces. This is an exciting opportunity to work in HSEs central finance division (PFPD), a dynamic and fast-paced team at the core of the organization and you will work closely with stakeholders across HSE. This role is key to ensuring effective financial operations, driving improvements, and supporting the organizations goals through collaboration and innovation. Job description The primary purpose of this role is to deliver the expenses and debt recovery activity. The role involves various expenses related tasks including checking, reviewing policy and reporting activities. The role will also provide an escalation point for debt recovery activity. You will have direct responsibility for the delivery of the expenses related activity resulting from the increase in travel related to the Building Safety Division (BSD) and to ensure compliance with current guidelines. Your main responsibilities will include: Responding to queries related to travel expenses and the application of expenses policy. Undertaking percentage compliance checks and recording activity. Claims which are outside the expenses policy are investigated and clarification obtained. With potential to escalate cases for scrutiny. Preparing MI reports for assurance checks for both ExCo and the divisions. Supporting with drafting changes to Expenses policy in line with central government requirements/ changes. Provide an escalation point for debt cases in line with HSEs Debt Strategy, this includes preparing cases for DCA/ litigation action. Training This post will require extensive knowledge transfer and training from the existing Bootle based team which will require attendance for 3-5 days per week during the training period and it is expected that there will be ongoing face to face collaboration to ensure consistency in process and development across the various income regimes. Travel Occasional travel to our Buxton office may be required due to business need or for an all person BSD away day. Hours Part-time working hours are available for this role. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 22.5 hours per week once training has been completed. Person specification Essential Skills Previous experience of Expenses and Debt recovery; Competent MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel; Good organisational and planning skills to enable delivery to a strict timetable, following a defined process; Effective communication and influencing skills to be able to communicate both internally and externally.
