Job Description
In line with the recommendations from the Scottish Government and Rough Sleeping Action Group, the Scottish Government is committed to a transition to Rapid Rehousing for all homeless households, with Housing First becoming the first response for people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage.
The Support Worker (Housing First) will work with Housing First clients who are in their own tenancy or who are in transition and working towards their own accommodation.
Responsibilities
1. To provide home management and life skills training.
2. To provide advice and support on accessing local support services.
3. To provide tenancy maintenance support.
4. To implement procedures and carry out duties as directed by the Housing Support Assistant (Housing First).
5. To keep good records of contact with Housing First clients and to ensure that these are kept updated and that they are comprehensive for audit purposes.
Requirements
1. Experience of working with people with multiple needs.
2. Experience of multidisciplinary working.
3. SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent in Housing or related field.
4. Be willing to work towards mandatory SSSC Registration.
5. Maintain SSSC registration through training and development of skills/knowledge.
6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
7. Ability to organise, plan, and monitor workloads.
8. Effective communication skills both oral and written.
9. The ability to gain the confidence of people vulnerable to homelessness and ability to build up good rapport with them.
10. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary manner.
11. The ability to keep accurate records relating to involvement with service users.
12. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray, this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
13. Ability to relate to people with multiple needs.
14. Ability to be non-judgemental.
15. Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.
16. Ability to work in an open plan office or home working environment as required.
17. Ability to work in different offices depending on the needs of the service.
18. Adhere to current COVID-19 regulations and guidance.
