Job Description The role of Residential Family Support Worker is to provide safety, support, care and guidance to families who are placed with us for assessment. A large part of this involves detailed monitoring and recording. Responsibilities To work alongside and in partnership with team members and other professional (Social Workers, Police, Legal Services, Education and Health) to assist families to reach targets and expectations as outlined in their placement plans. To promote the understanding and importance of key life skills and appropriate behaviours to help parents reach their full potential by encouraging the development of practical management and nurturing skills by recording, monitoring and observing parental interaction with their children and feeding back to the Lead Assessment Social Worker. To liaise with professionals and demonstrate appropriate behaviour management strategies in line with Savannah Lodge policies on promoting positive behaviour in parents and children. Keep up to date and accurate records of the residents progress to help plan for their needs and enable other team members to fulfil their duties and responsibilities. To safeguard children in the family centre safe at all times To promote better relationship between parents whilst maintaining professional boundaries To work shift on a 24hr shift pattern which included working weekends and bank holidays. To complete parenting sessions with families To support families to attend personal and specific appointments. To facilitate contact between families and their children and or friends and families. To have a business insurance on your car and be able to take families for appointments as and when needed. To confidential challenge parents and protect children and others in the centre as and when the need arises. To work closely with the team leaders, social workers and managers and be able to follow their instructions to benefit the families in our service. To attend regular supervision and team meetings, undertake training as required. Contribute to reports and meetings as required to assist in planning to meet the needs of the parents and children. Undertake any other duties or responsibilities as required by the manager/social worker/team leader to assist the functioning of the centre or care towards the families. This includes domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning. Personal Specification: Resilient and motivated Good communication skills both verbal and written Calm approachable manner adaptable and not judgmental and being curios Able to work on own initiative and as part of the team Being a good team player Able to read and write English and follow instructions IT literate Flexible and able to work shifts Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care desirable but not essential have to willing to work towards Experience with working with vulnerable children and adults desirable but not essential as full training will be given ADZN1_UKTJ
