Principal Accountabilities
Responsibilities and duties will include, but not be limited to:
1. Monthly Reporting / Consolidation:
Review of OpCo management accounts (via SES Tagetik consolidation tool), co-ordination of Q&A review process with OpCo Finance Manager, ensuring all review points are understood and closed out.
Review of month-end consolidation, including review of consolidation journals, to ensure that Group management accounts are both timely and accurate.
Review of central management charges, with any feedback provided to the UK team responsible.
Preparation of JS&SL (parent) Group reporting for review by Group Reporting Manager / CFO ahead of submission to London.
Preparation of SES Flash / Group Management Pack for review by Group Reporting Manager / CFO ahead of submission to ExCo.
Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, automation, and efficiency, particularly in relation to consolidation, month end close and management reporting.
2. Annual Reporting:
Support the annual Group audit, with particular focus on UK statutory accounts review, impairment assessments (investments, loans, fleet), going concern memo's etc.
Review of OpCo Standard Form submissions (note that Standard Forms are the annual JSSL (parent) statutory reporting consolidation tool), and prepare the Standard Forms consolidation for review by Group Reporting Manager.
Track submission and approval of local entity statutory accounts, prepare summary for board reporting.
3. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: quarterly review of balance sheet reconciliations in line with group reporting timetable, ensuring any review points / issues identified are closed out with the OpCo in a timely manner. Escalate any issues identified as required.
4. Budgeting: co-ordination of the annual budget cycle, ensuring instructions are issued in a timely manner, support the Group Financial Accountant with Tagetik / budget setup, consolidation of budget submissions, and budget reports issued for ExCO review.
5. Tax / Transfer Pricing: on-going support to the Group Tax Manager with aspects such as Transfer Pricing reviews, group relief / true-up, annual tax policy reporting, MCL lease premium / true-up, tax SAO procedure etc.
6. Technical: strong foundation of technical accounting knowledge, supporting both OpCo Finance and Group Finance as required, including, but not limited to, IFRS 16 and Impairment assessments.
7. Financial Control: provide input for the review and implementation of key accounting policies and controls.
8. Banking: support Graduate Accountant with HSBC relationship, which covers HSBCnet platform, bank mandates, bank guarantees etc.
9. People: line manager review of Group Finance Accountant and Graduate Accountant outputs. As applicable provide guidance and support to the local OpCo finance managers.
10. M&A / Integration: support any M&A projects and/or integration projects that may arise.
11. Ad-hoc projects: support any ad-hoc projects that may arise.
Qualifications and Experience
• Qualified Accountant, technically strong on consolidation and group accounting and financial controls.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a solution orientated approach.
• Strong business analytical skills with advanced proficiency in all Microsoft packages, including Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint.
• Able to build an understanding of the business from a commercial and financial perspective and see the relationship between the two.
• Hands-on approach, with ability to work at the required level of detail.
• Resilient, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys making a difference.

The job holder may also be required to work at other locations operated by the Company as well as carrying out customer and supplier site visits.
