The primary purpose of this post is, as part of the management team of the Community Resource Centre, to efficiently and effectively provide person-centred services for older people, designed to meet assessed needs of service users including those living with dementia, physical and learning disabilities, and sensory impairments. This will involve providing services to encourage service user functional rehabilitation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Service Delivery Departmental: With the Registered Manager, participate in the formulation of detailed team objectives and policies. Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of Council policies and the achievement of the Council's objectives, including financial objectives. Contribute to co-operative working across services in accordance with the Council's Vision and Values.
2. Functional Service-user care: Coordinate the provision of holistic care and support to meet users' physical and psychological needs and promote the continuing spiritual, family, and social life of the residents.
3. Care of the Environment: Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the establishment, ensuring that the appropriate documentation is completed in accordance with legislation and Health & Safety guidelines.
4. Catering: Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that the catering staff provide a high standard catering service according to service user preferences and dietary needs.
5. Management: Assist in managing and supporting the staff team in the performance of their day-to-day duties, including the allocation of work rotas, supervision, and support.
6. Service Development and/or Delivery: Work closely with others in the Council to share information and ideas, and promote a consistent, organisational-wide approach to policy and practice.
7. Other: Adopt a proactive approach to developing and maintaining excellent relationships and communication channels with a wide range of contacts including managers, external clients, and suppliers.
Minimum Requirements
* To be compliant with Mandatory Training Requirements.
* Must hold Care Certificate Qualification and Level 3 Diploma in Care qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience in the care of older people and care of those with dementia is essential.
* A commitment to and responsibility for personal and professional development.
* Previous managerial experience in residential care of the elderly is an advantage.
* Be trained in First Aid to an appropriate level.
* Strong team player with a collaborative work style.
* The ability to cope with conflicting demands and deadlines.
* Demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships with clients.
* Understanding and sensitive to the needs of residents and visitors.
* An acceptance of shift work, flexible hours.
