An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Instrumentation Manufacturing Engineer to join Rolls Royce Aerospace business in Bristol. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be part of the Development Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team, owning the technical aspects of Instrumenting development engines, modules and rigs for a variety of applications both inside Defence and for the wider business. The application of Thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure tappings and accelerometers is a vital part of validating our products meet design intent and provide the information needed for next generation products. What you will be doing: Collaborate with the Instrumentation Design community to manage, validate, execute and deliver practical solutions directly to the Development operations team, Coordinate with skilled operators and inspectors Resolve emergent issues, implement alternative solutions and continuously improve our methods to hit project timescales Instructing Fitters and Inspectors on putting instruments on components Wiring up to monitor engines on Test Non-conformance resolution Who we’re looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. To be successful in this role you will need to have: Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent) Knowledge of instrumentation standards and techniques pertinent to the application and routing of Instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples etc, knowledge of radio telemetry systems would be an asset Engineering / Electrical drawing interpretation General understanding of engine configurations and manufacturing processes relevant to assembly and instrumentation application. Project planning and organisational skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Strong IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft packages such as Excel, word and power-point. Able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, flexibility to operate in a changing manufacturing environment, and the ability to work both individually and as a member of a multi-skilled team Ability to work second shift if required We are an equal opportunities employer.
