We are seeking a Caretaker to join the team at a local school. The Purpose of the Caretaker is to work as part of a Facilities Team to help provide a safe, efficient and effective learning and working environment for students and staff.
You will be assisting the Estates Manager / Assistant Facilities Manager to manage, develop and support the caretaking and cleaning team to ensure high standards and to contribute to the aims of the school.
As a Caretaker, the main duties and responsibilities will be:
Security of premises – Including: Opening, locking, Alarm monitoring, Parking management, Key holder duties
Health and Safety – Including: Safety checks on alarms & Equipment, Pat testing, Stock checking & Reporting
Maintenance –Including: General maintenance & repair, paving, fencing, plastering, painting, doors / windows, furniture
Porterage – Including: Handling deliveries, Waste and room set up (when required)
Heating / Lighting – Including: Checking & setting systems, Inventory checks & record keeping
Cleaning of premises – Including: When required, cleaning training of cleaners, Stock control & ordering if required
Grounds maintenance – Including: General tidiness, proactive maintenance as required
Driving – Use of school vehicles, when / if required
As for who we are looking for?
you perhaps have come from another school Caretakers position or have experience in building services and wish to do something a little different. A friendly and approachable person, flexible and happy to work independently.
A DBS will be required, the school will be able to assist with this.
This is a full time role ( 37hours per week) to be conducted over 5 days per week, Due to the nature of school, this role needs to fit around our pupils and their learning.
Salary on offer will be at £27,310 per annum
