Are you caring, bright, enthusiastic, willing to learn a new skill and looking to join the care industry, or already an experienced carer? If so, we are looking for a night time carer to join our young son’s small support team. Experience of tracheostomy and ventilation care would be an advantage, but is not essential; full, certificated training will be provided.
The position is for 9-hour, night time waking shifts, for a 6-year-old boy who is happy, adventurous and very chatty. He has a tracheostomy and is ventilated overnight.
You will receive:
1. Standard rate starting from £26 per hour, enhanced rate £21.81 to £28 per hour
2. A pension if eligible
3. 6 weeks per year pro rata holiday
4. Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
5. The option of contracted hours or a casual contract, on a Personal Health Budget
Hours available:
6. 18 to 36 hours per week (2 to 4 night shifts)
7. There is the opportunity to work additional hours on occasions in relation to holidays and sickness
8. Opportunities to increase the number of shifts in the future
What’s Required:
9. Being able to carry out a waking shift, staying fully alert and vigilant
10. Flexibility in working hours is essential to cover other team members
11. Weekend work will be required
12. Some shifts over public holidays (eg. Christmas) will be required. This will be shared with other team members
13. Support with use and care of tracheostomy and ventilator. The use of a suction machine and nebulisers is required. Full training provided
14. Support with life skills
15. An enhanced DBS check (the cost will be met by the employer)
