The DRVN Automotive Group are recruiting for an experienced Gasoline Powertrain Calibration & Integration Engineer to work on the design, development and integration of gasoline powertrains into new vehicle platforms.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in calibrating Gasoline Powertrain Control Systems to deliver emission and vehicle attributes, combined with an understanding or experience of powertrain installation component development.
The role will require the successful candidate to work with external engine and component suppliers and the DRVN vehicle engineering team to specify and develop powertrain as installed systems, culminating with development of the powertrain control system calibration to meet attribute targets. Ability to travel (globally) to support development, customer events and concern resolution is required.
Working in a small powertrain team, it is important that the successful candidate can work across a range of powertrain components and systems and has a flexible working approach to suit the requirements of the specific system.

Responsibilities
* Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and all policies of the company.
* Manage tasks with design and project engineering support within the powertrain team.
* Lead Gasoline Vehicle Engine Control System Calibration development and sign off.
* Support the design and development of specific powertrain components.
* Identify and troubleshoot issues in powertrain integration or component performance.
* Ensure the components meet performance, durability, and cost requirements.
* Support testing and validation activities, ensuring individual components function reliably under different conditions.
* Support the specification and design of powertrain as installed systems and components.
* Liaise with suppliers to supply parts to internally developed specifications and designs.
* Select existing parts from the supply base and manage integration into the powertrain system.
* Manage integration and sign-off of powertrain systems to meet vehicle programme targets.
* Support purchasing team by providing technical content for RFQs and technical evaluation of commercial offerings.
* Work closely with the Engineering Analysis team (FEA) to meet design targets and drive cost-effective solutions.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and control the engineering change process.
* Support Programme team to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
* Maintain communication with internal and external customers and stakeholders on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements
* Engineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subject.
* Extensive experience of developing Gasoline Engine Control System Calibrations.
* Understanding and knowledge of DVP’s, and FMEA’s.
* Understanding and knowledge of Test and Validation procedures and processes.
* Ability and confidence to manage suppliers challenging errors where necessary.
* Ability to work flexibly within the role and adapt to varying levels of involvement required to support individual systems.
* Confidence to advocate design solutions to the engineering team and to push for the right solution.
* Awareness of design to manufacturing process.
* Ability to work efficiently within your role.
* Excels in organisational skills and time management.
* A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity.
* Willingness to support others.
* Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.
* Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK– Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.
* Experience of developing one or more major powertrain as installed components or systems (Cooling, Air intake, Exhaust, Fuel, Driveline, Transmission etc.).
