About the role
The E-Learning Visual Design Assistant (ELVDA) will work alongside and support the E-Learning Visual Designers (ELVD) who take the lead in creating visual elements such as graphics, visualisation and animations based on storyboards produced by our Learning Designers for use in King’s online programmes.
The purpose of the role will be to assist and support the ELVD’s in the production of graphics and animations that are integral to our online digital education portfolio.
The candidate is expected to work both independently and collaboratively, bringing a self-motivated, results orientated and versatile approach to their work. The candidate will be willing to learn from their colleagues, be open to sharing knowledge and developing new skills. There will be a particular focus on achieving and maintaining accuracy, consistency and quality in everything that we produce. An openness to learning new skills and techniques will be important, as design trends change, and new tools appear.
This is an excellent entry level position for anyone looking for a career in visual design within the exciting world of digital education.
This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an 18 month fixed term contract.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
* Undergraduate degree and/or relevant industry experience
* Digital graphic design skills, with reference to graphics and/or, infographics or animations (for example, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite with reference to Illustrator and/or Photoshop)
* Ability to understand and follow visual design principles to create basic graphics and visuals
* Strong attention to detail for accuracy in design and layout
* Willingness to learn animation
* Willingness to learn to work with briefs to ensure accurate and quality visual designs
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
* Willingness to work collaboratively under guidance

* Experience of content creation in an educational environment
* Familiarity with virtual learning platforms like Moodle
