Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Assistant Head Chef to join our team. As the Assistant Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including food production, menu planning, and team management. Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation workers
2. Plan and create menus that align with our restaurant's concept and customer preferences
3. Ensure the quality and consistency of all food items prepared in the kitchen
4. Oversee food production processes, including cooking, plating, and presentation
5. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
6. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
7. Train new kitchen staff members on proper food preparation techniques and procedures
8. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new dishes and seasonal menus
9. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into our culinary offerings
Experience:
1. Proven experience working as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a restaurant setting
2. Strong knowledge of food production processes, culinary techniques, and flavor profiles
3. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
4. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with kitchen staff, management, and suppliers
5. Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control measures
6. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen setting
7. Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred but not required
