Practice The New City Medical Centre Specimen Job Description Practice Nurse Job Title: Nurse Responsible to: Partners / GPs / Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Career Start Responsible for: N/A Job Purpose: To provide a high-quality care service based on the needs of the Practice population which includes treatment, screening, preventative care and patient education Duties and Responsibilities Clinical To manage patients with chronic disease, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust recall systems and accurate recall date entry Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology Carry out Cervical Smear Sampling and attend annual Cervical Cytology updates Provide Travel Health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations Undertake all Child Health Surveillance and Immunisation Vaccination Programmes Provide directly and support GPs & Nurse Practitioner with contraceptive services Provide ongoing support and have an empathy to patients/carers /parents' Palliative needs Act as chaperone when required Undertake health promotion to help educate patients Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests Respiratory be willing to undertake further training to be ARTP accredited in Spirometry Administration To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care To collect data and participate in regular Practice audit and research projects To contribute to the preparation of any Practice Development Plans General To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct To maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all Practice staff, patients, carers and co-workers from other agencies.
