Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computing Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This is a full-time position starting in September to cover a long-term absence. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and is committed to providing an engaging and forward-thinking curriculum that prepares students for the digital world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, equipping students with essential skills in programming, digital literacy, and computational thinking.
* Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons that inspire and challenge students.
* Teach a range of topics, including programming (Python, Java, or similar), algorithms, networking, cyber security, and digital media.
* Develop students' problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through hands-on learning and project-based work.
* Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress to ensure continuous development.
* Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
* Promote the safe and responsible use of technology, in line with school policies.
* Encourage students to explore careers in technology and participate in extracurricular activities, such as coding clubs or STEM initiatives.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Computing curriculum and share best practices.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Computing at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Strong subject knowledge, particularly in programming and emerging technologies.
* Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A passion for technology and innovation in education.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
