Full time (37 hours per week)
We are currently looking for a Governance Officer to provide support to the Governance Manager and the Data Protection Manager. Your time will be split 50:50 between these areas whilst also providing support to the Legal Manager from time to time.
You will play a pivotal role in promoting good governance and data protection compliance across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to continue or pursue a career in governance and committed to continuing their development in this area.
What you will be doing:
1. Providing support to ensure that an appropriate governance framework is in place across all parts of the group including appropriate constitutional arrangements, Codes of Governance, standing orders, schemes of delegation and terms of reference.
2. Processing data subject rights requests by logging requests, collating documents and data, reviewing and redacting documents, ensuring requests are responded to within deadlines.
3. Support the organisation's policy group through administration and ensuring that the policy framework is kept up to date.
4. Monitoring the data protection inbox, dealing with queries and escalating as required.
5. Assisting in collating and maintaining records of processing activities documentation.
6. Assisting with filing of regulatory returns, annual declarations of interest and maintaining the compliance matrix.

1. Ideally Degree level education, and with the commitment to further professional development.
2. Commitment to and interest in working in governance and data protection.
3. Professional, well organised and able to work to deadlines when required.
4. Excellent attention to detail, and to seek answers to problems.
5. Strong IT skills and aptitude.
