Dean Close Pre-Prep School are looking to appoint a SEND Coordinator for our school. This is a part time position, working 28 hours per week, working during term time. This role is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced SENDCO to be instrumental in supporting our ethos of inclusion and ensuring that all children. The responsibilities of this role are: Develop and oversee the implementation of the school’s SEND and Accessibility policies, provision, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practices. Maintain the SEND register so that data on SEND and needs are accurate, and support pupils needs Work closely with staff and parents to identify needs Signpost parents to specialists, co-ordinate visits and assessments, ensure recommendations are shared and implemented. Coordinate the training and facilitating of teaching staff in effective strategies for assessing, teaching and monitoring children with SEND. Provide guidance to staff on SEND awareness, strategies, and resources to support inclusive teaching practices. We are looking for a qualified teacher who has experience in working in a SEND role. Ideally, the successful candidate would have a qualification in SEND, such as NASENCo or NPQ SENCO.
