Job Family – Engineering
This family is responsible for creating everything from the initial concept to the final design of Survitec products. They develop ideas for new products and prototypes, as well as evolving the design details of established ranges. They deeply understand the safety needs of Survitec customers and deliver innovation that captures the design strategy and brand values. They integrate innovative functional solutions with world-class creativity to support Survitec’s vision to become the most trusted provider of safety services.
Job Summary:
This role writes technical documentation for engineers and manuals for technical and non-technical customers and end-users. It creates documentation for a range of products, services, and systems for target audiences with varying degrees of technical sophistication, that meet commercial, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining Technical Publications according to company procedures.
2. Applying and recording design changes correctly.
3. Maintaining master files, illustrations, and photographs.
4. Working with operational personnel to make written, visual, and photographic notes.
5. Various support tasks in the Configuration Control department.
6. Organising and preparing complex documents using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
7. Creating an environment where everyone in the team can live the Survitec Values.
8. Contributing positively to creating an inclusive environment where our people feel valued, appreciated, and free to be who they are at work.
9. Understanding, upholding, and contributing to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec.
10. Developing own capabilities through participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Developing and maintaining an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices.
Essential Criteria:
1. One year’s relevant work experience or NVQ Level III/National Diploma in IT (or equivalent).
2. Experience of Microsoft Office products.
3. GCSE (Grade A, B or C) in English, Mathematics, and a Science (or related subject).
Desirable Criteria:
1. One year’s relevant work experience in IT or Technical Publications.
2. Experience of computer application development.
3. Experience of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
4. Experience of working in a team/office environment.
5. Experience of working in a technical/engineering environment.
