Training & Qualifications

1. HCPC registration
2. Postgraduate doctoral level (or equivalent) training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
Desirable Criteria
1. Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
2. Previous training in medical psychology
Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working with people with medical/chronic physical health conditions and across a range of severity and presentations
2. Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment
3. Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
4. Experience of working with adults
5. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
6. Experience of conducting risk assessments
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience of working in an acute hospital with patients with medical/chronic health conditions
2. Experience of assessing and treating patients with haematological malignancies
3. Experience of developing and implementing group based interventions
4. Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care
5. Experience of providing supervision to other clinical staff
6. Experience of conducting clinical research
Communication & Relationship Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
2. Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
3. Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
4. Ability to develop strong therapeutic alliances with patients

1. Experience of working within a multicultural framework
2. Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
2. Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including both quantitative and qualitative methods
3. Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies for people undergoing CAR-T therapy and haematological malignancies
Desirable Criteria
1. Knowledge of complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of Clinical Psychology
Planning & Organisation Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the HCPC
2. Ability to identify, provide and promote appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations
3. Ability to identify, and employ, as appropriate, clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice
4. Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience and/or training in the supervision of other psychologists
Physical Skills

1. Ability to move between a number of locations within the hospital in a working day
