Tees Sport, Britain’s leading specialist retail table tennis supplier is recruiting for a Sales Assistant to work in the company’s shop and office in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate would be one who has played table tennis to a good level and has a strong knowledge of sport and the equipment that is used to play the game.
Wage
£15,704 a year
There is an opportunity of additional work at events, both weekend and in some cases during the week.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
The ideal candidate would also have some experience in customer service, a good telephone manner and a knowledge of basic IT to enable communication with customer's, raise an invoice and managing stock records.
Duties to include:
* Welcome customers to the Tees Sport shop, telephone, or online
* Taking messages and passing to the appropriate person
* Process customer orders
* Investigate and resolve customer queries quickly and patiently both by email and over the telephone
* Check product availability for customer orders
* Communicate with customers about their orders, including any delays or changes in delivery
* Maintain accurate customer records and monitor stock levels
* Overseeing sales via website maintenance
* Learn how to use the database system - training will be given
* Work as part of the sales team

* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
