What will you do
Core Activities
The core activities of the Senior Civil / Water Resources Engineer’s role are as follows:
1. Understand our clients - their needs and how to solve their problems.
2. Able to project manage projects technically and commercially
3. Provide advice and solutions to our clients
4. Maintain up to date market knowledge for yourself and the wider team.
5. Build and maintain a network of internal and external clients.
Lead contract negotiations with clients to generate work for self and others.
Technical Activities
As an experienced Civil and water resources engineer, your tasks will be as follows:
6. Provide technical direction supervision and reviews of flooding and drainage modelling and engineering assignments
7. Develop local technical systems and standards.
8. Supervise and instruct junior staff in technical modelling assessment and design works as well as assist in professional development.
9. Checking and reviewing deliverables to ensure high quality.
10. Prepare commercial, technical and financial proposals to undertake Flood and Stormwater Modelling and Design projects
11. Prepare work plans/programmes for resources and scheduling to complete project on time and on budget.
12. Conduct appropriate investigations, studies, analyses, concept design and documentation and recommend actions.
13. Provide high level technical advice to engineers and scientists from other disciplines.
Business Development and Account Management
14. Develop new business for the Rivers and Water Management team and other parts of the Haskoning Australia business (i.e. winning work for yourself and others), through interaction with clients including strong face to face engagement.
15. To manage and run a number of high profile client accounts in our key sectors. You will be expected to maximize the market value from these clients through constant account management techniques.
16. Build and maintain a high level of client relations also at a strategic/decision making level.
17. Mentor and share knowledge internally and keep up to date on all new ways of working.

What you bring
18. Highly effective technical and practical scientific and engineering skills in the relevant disciplines
19. Have experience in and have recently completed Flood Impact Assessments (particularly using the TUFLOW software programme), Drainage system analysis and design (DRAINS / MUSIC), input in these technical disciplines in larger multi-disciplinary projects
20. Provide direction and advice on technical matters, teaches, mentors others in the team
